As The Spider Weaves

So much excitement for Mr. Orb Spider,  heretofore known as Chuck.

Chuck built a beautiful web, great garden spot,  plenty of fresh food...almost like having room service.
Well some lucky lady became Mrs.Chuck...
Unfortunately for Chuck, she killed him on the honeymoon.
Upside, Mrs. Chuck and babies will enjoy the rest of the season in comfort, living on Chuck's abode.

Here is Gladys (aka Mrs. Chuck) helping herself to a grasshopper wrap. Gotta give Gladys credit, she likes her good fresh and she's quick. Took her less than a minute to wrap this bad boy up for later.
Man, poor Chuck.  Honeymoon and funeral on the same night. What a way to go....

Meanwhile, across the yard, here's Marie. We thought Marie and Chuck might find love....but it wasn't meant to be.
Which is fine, Marie has pretty good setup of her own, and nature decorated it in water pearls this morning.

And I had to include a snapshot of Oliver the jumping spider hiding from the rain on our garage light...

In non spider related news, the lavender is heartily enjoying the rain we've had...
And I hope you can see....
Our sunflower is resting her heavy head on the feeder.  Well the birds are enjoying it. There were about 10 of them , using the sunflower as a perch and an umbrella.

That's about it for today. It's been sprinkling so no bees or butterflies, most of the bug world is staying dry and well hidden today. At least here.

You all have a good day and God bless!
