We got her after the Joplin tornado. Some friends of ours were living in fema housing and this little girl wouldn't leave them alone. Someone had adopted her on a whim after the tornado and quickly decided she was too much trouble.
Bill Dear was driving a hearse at the time, he told them if she'd get in the hearse and stay, he'd take her home. Sure enough she curled right up and made herself at home.
She's been our girl ever since.
And yes, that judgy look, it's her staple. 😄
She gets along with the boys, hated all our girls except Cuddles, and has established herself as a badass among the general population. Pooka takes no flak from anyone.
Once upon a time, Spaz was her wrestling partner, they loved to play and chase each other. If you're lucky you can still can catch them napping together, although I haven't been able to get photographic proof yet, lol. I do have a snap of her mothering Peanut, she was always a good stepmom to the kittens we adopted over the years.
One thing you can't escape is the "look"....
She does have her sweet side, and she loves her naps....
She is definitely a happy accident. She is the perfect balance of affection and independence, she's even tempered but takes no guff, and she's always watching you......
