The lady in pink is Bill Dears sister Goldie.
Goldie passed away today, complications attributed to bronchitis and asthma.
This lady had her faults just like all of us. Opinionated, argumentative.
She was also giving, loving, and charismatic.
She lost her leg from diabetes and an infected fire ant bite. It got her down, she was in pain, she struggled. She also laughed, reached out to everyone she met, and inspired so many who were having the same struggles as her.
Bill wishes they'd talked more, I wish I'd called her yesterday instead of waiting until Christmas day, our daughter wishes she had gotten cards done earlier.
Regrets.
They're easy.
But you can't plan for someone to leave your life.
You can only say goodbye and cherish the memories.
You want to honor someone, love them after they're gone. And don't put off saying what you need to say, you may not get a chance later.
We take that for granted too much.
Merry Christmas, hug your loved ones, call your family, pet your fur kids, and remember that God loves you.
