Autumn

The most gorgeous time of year next to spring.
Especially when the setting sun hits the trees just right...
And the smell!  The earthy and spicy mix  of leaves, walnuts, pinecones,  etc. It just has a smell that screams fall.
We took our pup for a walk on a walking path and it was so nice.
If you look you can see the squirrel she was sniffing out in the first two pictures above.  ⬆️
I love this time of year.  It only lasts a short time. That wonderful period when everything looks like it's on fire and it smells like spices and campfires.
It's funny because even the water seems cleaner and clearer,  more crisp.
It's a sad time too, for me. I love my plants and flowers, the perfumes that come from living things.  Too soon the smell of fall will be followed by the emptiness of winter.
The pup doesn't care though. Her glowing red hair bouncing through the leaves.  Her only care is the new sights, sounds, smells, and that her people took her somewhere.  She is loved and that is enough.
And therein lies the lesson.
In any season, God is there and we are loved.
